Energy & Environmental Benchmarking
Benchmarking Database Info : Energy & Environmental Benchmarking
e-Bench™ is committed to the promotion of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability. However, before this can be addressed a means of monitoring and profiling usage and consumption patterns must exist.

e-Bench™ fills this void by measuring the energy efficiency, environmental impact, and energy costs of different facilities and buildings operated by an organisation. However, there are a number of influences on energy usage that a facility manager has no control over - climate, building construction, exposure to sun and wind, and the operating conditions of the building itself (e.g. the need to maintain a comfortable working environment). e-Bench™ corrects for these influences so that the differences between facilities and organisations is due to influences that can be managed - types of control systems, presence of insulation, types of mechanical plant and electrical fittings.

As a result managers and engineers can compare their facilities to benchmarks that are truly comparable. This allows for the identification and prioritisation of areas that are inefficient and offer the biggest gains in energy usage and financial savings. This ability to target energy efficiency expenditure, build a clear business case for investment in energy efficiency improvements, and monitor the effects of these improvements empowers managers to make a positive impact to their organisations bottom line as well as accelerating environmental improvements such as reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

The ability to monitor these improvements and report on them to Boards of Directors, government agencies, and consumers further increases the value of benchmarking to the point where it can be used as a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

The following benefits can be achieved by using e-Bench™:
